Guitar cabinet IR from 3 Sigma Audio

Testing a bunch of guitar cabinet IR from 3 Sigma Audio. The goal is just to give you an idea of broad spectrum that can be obtained with this library. The same mic position has been used for all the cabinets (position 3b). All the samples are raws (no post processing). Signal chain is :
DI -> Screamer -> SoloC (new version) -> NadIR (Ignite Amps)

  1. I can think of half a dozen reasons why 3 sigma audio is better than buying from Rosen Digital from now on. Thanks for posting this. Can't wait for you to release those new amp sims!

  3. Your plugins are great!. All guitars on our album was recorded with lepou plugins (2 x le456 + 2 x legion on rhythm guitars, hyBrit on solos + leCab2 on group of all guitars).
If you want to hear plugins in full mix, here is track from our album: https://youtu.be/7Thr70h3nM4

  4. Is there anyway to run one individual DI track through 2 different amps without having any phasing issues? Even putting on an instrument rack in Ableton brings upon phasey thiness...I'm thinking there is no way to tone stack digitally, only through a physical Y splitter box, am I wrong?

    1. You have to put a short delay (10-15 ms, set to all wet output) on one of the two sims so that you get a different phase

  19. I thought you might like to hear something I did using your amazing plugins recently. You can zoom ahead to about 5:30 to hear the amps. I used the LE456 with a vanilla cab impulse for both guitars and the bass, as I felt the clean channel on the amp really helped shape my tone well. https://youtu.be/r7lliYDmvsw

Tried customer service, and it failed miserably...

    3. It seems to be a compatibility problem with Sonar. It's not the first time I have issues with Sonar and I'm not the only developer with that kind of compatibility issues. I think I'll have to get myself Sonar to found out what is the problem...

    1. There is not much I can do for you if you are using Pro Tools because only RTAS or AAX plugins format can be used with Pro Tools... unless you are using some sort of wrapper. My plugins are VST or AU. On Mac what you have to do is unzip the file and copy the .component (.vst) file in the /Library/Audio/Plig-ins/ Component (/VST). Any DAW supporting those plugin format should search these folders to find the plugins.

  38. I know it's just my impatience and it must be somewhat stupid asking if those are coming anytime soon. I believe you would share the news with us in such case...But I dare ask again: Hey, Alain, could you please elaborate on the progress with your new ampsims? I remember late 2013/early 2014 when LeGion 2 was first mentioned and that excitement never left me ever since, more so in March 2015 when you announced the bunch of new sims but here we are 2 years later and it seems pretty vague , I'd say. I may sound pushy though I'm not. Just wondering...no, I really demand your detailed reply lol :P Thanks in advance anyways, whether or not you decide to tell us at least a bit...Even no dates will do, my friend. Best of luck and much respect, Alain. Still using and admiring your older generation plugins! Cheers!

  44. Could I please please please beg you to do a fix for your LeCab2, which will allow it to not crash when the path to the impulse response files have changed - i.e., allow you to update the path whilst retaining the same settings. I moved to a new computer and now I've lost all the settings I had as I can't remember the path I used on my old computer.

    1. Are you using the latest version i.e. LeCab2rev1 ? Does it actually crash or open but don't remember the settings ? It's been a while since I work on this plugin...

      Supprimer
    2. Thanks for your response. Yes, I'm using the rev1. In reaper, if you open a project with a Lecab2 plugin, and the plugin is unable to find the IR file because the folder containing the IRs has changed (e.g. you're using a new PC), then it crashes. You can get round this by opening the project with all plugins turned off, but the problem then is that you lose all the settings that you previously set in the plugin. So you may have spent a long time mixing various IRs to make the sound you want, but if you later open this project on a new computer with the IRs in a different folder you have lost your work, as there is no way of finding out what that path was on your old computer. The only solution is to add the plug in again and try to recreate the sound.
There are quite a few discussions of this online, here is one example:

      Thanks!

    3. It would be enough to dump some error containing the path of the file that could not be found. Then the IRs could just be copied to that same location on the new computer; at the moment there is no way of knowing the path.

    4. I'm really sorry about that. I'm gonna work on a fix for that as well as spme other improvements like the latency and the CPU consumption amongst.
